| Legend of the Shenlong The Chinese take their culture and the things belonging in the culture very seriously. They do not tolerate those who destroy or make fun of their culture. China has a great history and they have long been a respected culture from anything from their mythology to their Traditional medicines. The Chinese are well respected because their ways and their traditions can help people. They are a very disciplined group. They are structured and well educated and very wise. In ancient China, people would come from all over the world to seek the advice from the Chinese elders. The Legend of the Spiritual Dragon or Weather Makers as they are called, they float across the blue sky when they appear. The Shenlong has control over the wind and rain, which could last a long time and become very damaging if the people did not appease the dragons. The Dragons are and have been believed to be the actual rulers of things such as bodies of water, the earth, and the sky. Legends have these dragons making volcanoes erupt or even spawning a tornado over the land and even a twister over the sea.
The Shenlongs have ling been “ in charge” of the weather
related happenings in China. In the ancient China, many villagers has
erected temples to worship the Shenlong because they had a great respect
and a great understanding of what could happen if they did not respect
the great dragon. When there were droughts and many villagers needed water,
they would pray to the Shenlong to bring the rain. Often they would make
sacrifices for the Shenlong, so he would come and grant their wishes.
